I was reading the coin facts about the 1993 1/10 proof as stated most was shipped in mint sets of the total made..

Proof Gold Eagle Mintage

Total Proof Eagle mintage slid, even factoring in the special Philadelphia Bicentennial Set produced just that year. In total, only 183,301 of the Proof Eagles were sold, a decline of 13,644 coins from the year before.

The chart below shows the total mintage of 1993-dated Proof Gold Eagles which includes the number sold as part of the Gold Eagle 4-Coin Set (of which 24,023 were sold). It also includes the number (12,689) sold as part of the Philadelphia Bicentennial Set which included the fractional Proof Gold Eagles.

One Ounce Proof Gold Eagle 34,369
1/2 Ounce Proof Gold Eagle 43,819
1/4 Ounce Proof Gold Eagle 46,464
1/10 Ounce Proof Gold Eagle 58,649

How would I know if this 1993 1/10 proof was not from a set as I guess they are saying about 21,937 was sold as single coins and not part of a set as I couldn't see sets broke up but you never know.

Without a COA I don't know of any method of determining that. Sets are broken up all the time and generally speaking it is not an issue to secondary purchasers.

Does it really matter whether this coin came out of a set or not? That will not change the total number minted of this coin.
