Showed my mom who doesn't collect or know about coins. She was like no way they were natural what did he do to them. It takes a lot for a layperson to know how bad these for treated.
He only lists them as artificial for the Indian Heads.
These coins are disgusting. Some look sort of interesting, but the vast majority are just horrific. It doesn't take a genius to recognize that the toning is fake.
I actually think it is pretty cool looking. Odd, this guy has been either trying to sell the same coin, or is selling the "same" coin over and over again, for at least 9 months, as I ran across this last April, and he's still at it.

Of course, the seller states in his description that the coin is "bright white" and that the "weird" colors seen in the photo are due to the flash on his camera. But then again, the seller also claims that this coin is one ounce of silver. Thus, I guess we can take his description with a grain of salt.
Here's the seller's all-cap description:
Quote: 1 OZ 1987-S PROOF US CONSTITUTION BICENTENNIAL COMMEMORITIVE... PLEASE DONT LOOK AT THE PICTURE THAT LOOKS BLUE IN COLOR AND SCRATCHED, IT IS NOT, IT'S BRIGHT WHITE AND NOT BLUE,I USED FLASH AND I THINK THIS IS WHY IT LOOKS REALLY WEIRD.
"Pay no attention to the blue coloring in the picture. I used a camera with a flash, and instead of just retaking the stupid picture right then, without the flash, I uploaded the only picture I took, edited it down to include it on this auction, and decided to type a sentence to explain it all to everyone, so now you have a misleading picture AND a nice explanation about how it REALLY looks, without having to see it!"
I greatly dislike sellers like this. Either way, whether it really is just a bad pic, or he is being deceptive, it's sad.
A sulfide solution will give silver coins a nice rainbow toning. Sometimes heat and humidity will do the trick too. Not sure what this guy has done though.
my guess: kept in his picky cavity for over a decade but the seller is also a flamethrower from the Crique du Soleil that drinks Napalm once in a while.
