Or at least that's what is advertised. There are also price comparisons between PCGS, NGC, and ANACS. www.coinvalues.us and of course I just now found it on https://www.coinsheetlinks.comJerry

Jerry, this is a very valuable resource for those of us who frequently buy and sell; thank you for the info. Of course, it must be taken in context with the other price guides, e.g. PCGS price list, CDN, Coin Values magazine (I don't think there's a relationship with the CV website), etc. I'm also wondering who puts out the website. Although the author gives a fairly detailed biography of himself, I didn't see his name anywhere. In any instance, it's a monumental amount of work to keep a site like this current, especially if it's done by only one person.

I'm not quite sure how to read the price comparisons.

Very Nice sites! I did a little checking against ebay and Heritage Auctions and the prices listed seem to be close. Mike

I think the Coinvalues.us site is pretty accurate, but there are a lot of gaps. Right now, the Half Cent and large cent market is pretty hot. I would have expected to see more of the common date prices available. Maybe that will come with time. Thanks for posting the links.

Here is what I see with Morgan dollars in MS-63 prices: Coinvalues.us -vs- Greysheet 1881-O $40 (-14) Greysheet $27/$30 1885-CC DMPL $880(+25) Greysheet $960 1889-CC $34500 Greysheet $25000/$27000 1895-O $35600 Greysheet $40000/44000. Doesn't look that much different from any other online price guide. Here are a few highlighted comments from their site: Bes ure to read our disclaimer about prices and valuesAll of our source prices are based on real life transactions. Only completed public transactions are included ensuring that the prices reflect the real world retail environmentCoin Values reflect averages over time using statistical methodsI could not fine the "disclaimer" mentioned, but overall it seems like any other run of the mill price guide. Prices listed on ebay and Heritage are pretty good if taken in context. 1st ebay. Low end material (G-XF) go for crazy money. I constantly see low grade Indian cents sell on ebay for $2 and better. Coins that sell in ANY Coin Shop for 40 cents. While better slabbed material brings less than MOST dealers would pay. 2nd Heritage. Heritage routinely sees prices that are at Dealer bid. I believe it is one of the best online auction sites, but you also have to take into consideration that their "online only" bids are quite different than "floor person" auctions. If When buying coins, I would use the internet auctions by Heritage. Selling, I ONLY use "floor" auctions. Now of course this only applies to "Collector" grade coins. Rare coins are a breed of their own and have a far different set of rules.

Susan: Thanks for mentioning my site! As soon as I can, I plan to add a lot more coin value historical trend tables, including Half Cent and large cents. I've just about got the infra-structure of my site built, whereupon I'll have more time to dedicate to research and posting new data. Congratulations on your Coin Community site. You have done well!

Daniel, I'm sorry for the misunderstanding. My above post (which I have edited to make it clearer) was not referring to any gaps in your site. Quite frankly, I think your site is awesome. I was referring to the OP's link that is actually called Coinvalues.us.

Since Susan did not intentionally plug Daniel J. Goevert's site, http://www.us-coin-values-advisor.com/index.html I will. This site is very well put together with loads of information. Anyone thinking about which coins "may or may not" have a future potential would do well to add this site to their research.

Jerry, there are two sites that have very similar names. The one you posted is coinvalues.us. Daniel's site is uscoinvalues. The comments I made above are about the site you posted. It's a good site, but I saw some gaps that I'm sure they'll fill in eventually. Daniel's site is more comprehensive.

OK! I got it. Daniel's site is better than the one I found because it is more comprehensive. Sounds like a Daddy-0 deal to me!!!! LOL Poor choice of a word on my part also.

His name is Jorg. It's actually at the botom of the page but I can see how it would be easily missed. I have known him online for years and he is a good guy. Very stand up and a good writer too. He is also converting old issues if The Numismatist into electronic format: http://www.ancientcoinvalues.com/24.html
