I was just looking at one of my silver coins and wondered if you could use silver polish on a silver coin? I'm not going to try it, dont worry, my coin is fine but I was just wondering.

Silver polish has abrasives in it that will scratch a coin very, very badly. It's the equivalent of using sandpaper on a coin.
Rest in Peace

ojo, what the previous posters are trying to say is don't clean coins under any circumstances. While one could clean coins with silver polish, one should not clean coins with it nor with anything else. Any collectible coin's value is simply ruined by cleaning. And even mentioning the words "coin cleaning" raises a hullabaloo on coin forums and among collectors. [:0]

I should add that we joke about it a lot, e.g., using a sand blaster or belt sander on dirty coins.

Ya I use a wire brush aswell. BUT DONT WORRY! I only use it on the roman coins
wich, if they have been uncleaned, you are suppose to clean, otherwise you cannot see a single detial on the coin.
