Ok, time to cringe...

I'm watching pickers while getting some work done and the episode that aired on 6-3 had a guy flipping mike for a few hundred dollar swing bet on an item. Now as I'm working with it in the background I'm hearing about the bet and the guy saying "call it before it hits the ground" then I hear the "ting" SILVER! So I slow mo dvr it and while they never showed the coin up close I saw it was large and it wasn't a 40% sound I heard. So I got to a point where I could see it and its a freakin Peace dollar... I cringed a little but hearing a large 90% old dollar hit a hard concrete floor from a very hard & high flip was kinda cool

Nothing gets by me

Good eye! It doesn't look like it has a date or any lettering!

I noticed that too. I had to rewind the show and put it in slow motion too!!

You know you're a collector if: You rewind anything to get a better look at a coin.

Earlier in the show, the guy doing the flipping wanted to flip Mike double or nothing on an item worth thousands. Mike wisely didn't go for it. Smart, since the owner probably got the thing for $10 in a garage sale.

Yeah, I'd bet that it is his pocket piece. I saw the episode. It was cool seeing that the coin was a Peace dollar.

It probably still has the date and lettering on it (note the rims are still well formed) but the image is low enough res and far enough out of focus that they don't show. I do see a heavy rim ding at 6:00 though.

Same exact thing happened to me! I was working on a paper and watching it on demand, and I heard "We'll flip a coin for it!" Well, I put down my laptop and pressed my nose into the TV trying to see what it was because I heard the lovely sound of silver.

Ya, without my 55" tv and slow mo dvr feature I don't think I would have been able to ID it either. He through that thing HARD in the air which have the silver ting sound quite a punch

Not as bad as the Mythbusters episode where they shot a Seated Liberty dollar.
