Just when you think you have something safe from Bronys, they invade. In this case it seems to be a good thing. My wife had to search high and low to get this gem (not a cheap coin). She bought it for me this past Christmas. I love the design on this coin :)

I apologize for the quality of the photos, they are from an experimental photo set regarding lighting and size. When I take better photos of them, I'll post those as well. The re-sizing didnt help either :P

Not what I was expecting. Any info on where it was struck, metal, etc?

The coin is 2 inches in diameter, and approximately 3.5mm thick. It's a nice and heavy 2.2 oz brass coin plated on one side with nickel and (A finite amount of) 14kt gold on the other. The first run of these coins had no text on the edges. Later runs of the coin have text around the edges like the Presidential dollar Coin Series. It was only obtainable directly from the creator at cons. This coin can only be obtained second hand at this point (to my knowledge)

The coins were designed by Akili-Amethyst and minted my coinsforanything.com. It is the rarest of all her coins currently. Current coins can be bought from http://www.bronycoin.com/ I actually own this one too: http://www.bronycoin.com/Celestia_L...tia-luna.htm

@ Bertensgrad

lol, wouldn't worry about it too much. The brony fad is coming to a slow close. The excitement in the brony community has slowed quite a bit over the past year. This coin, however, is now a part of history :) I love the design on it.

Im actually leaning towards doing a date set of this coin for fun. I love the design on this one so much. As far as I know there only three Id have to get. The challenge will be getting the first issue. That one seems to fetch a high price tag right now.

Nice coin, the design looks good. I had been looking for one of those original 1 bit coins from BronyCoin not too long ago, but no dice it seems. This one is even cooler frankly, but too bad they're both unavailable. What were the differences between the three versions beyond just the edge text?

The only thing that changes is the year on the edge for the later issues. The 2012 run is the non-dated run. The 2013 and 2014 runs have the year on the edge. As far as I know there has not been a 2015 run of them.

My wife obtained mine through ebay from someone in England. They originally did not offer international shipping, but my wife contacted the seller and convinced them to offer the shipping. Very happy she did, its a gorgeous coin. Out of all the modern coinage I own, its actually my favorite.

Ah okay. Good luck with finding others to make that date set.

It seems like it was very quickly a legally troublesome coin to distribute, so there isn't going to be a 2015 run probably. Its a shame, and I wish I had gotten one.

Indeed, the creator did fear C and D, but never received one so she is still designing new Brony coins for now. We will shall see what happens in the future.

Looks good too! The site says its 25% off currently.

So coinsforanything.com did the production for all of the coins then I'm assuming. Where'd the design for it come from if you know?

the only info I could find is that the artist is Electrosexual (lovely artist name lol). Googling it didn't turn up much. There is an artist that goes by the same name in music (some appears to be Brony music, but not 100%). Could be the same person, but I can't say for sure.
