Usually its pretty easy to tell, however the pictures in this ad are a bit off and may be deceiving a little bit. I would say yes based on the it simply not looking original. either environmental damage or cleaning.

Imo, yes. Those shadowy dark spots appearing on the right side of the reverse are a result of improper cleaning.

Probably, I'd say. Looks like an "AU-details" coin with some tiny, surface debris. Personally, I'd avoid this one.

It was possibly cleaned in an unsuccessful effort to remove that debris on the reverse and then retoned. Kinda funny-looking.

That isn't an AU coin to my eye. There is a reason that with 2 hours to go bids are at $34. You should pass on this one. Plenty more nicer 1864's out there.
