Another-20-P-Die-Adjustment-Piece---Undated

While reexamining those unstruck UK planchets found another 20 pence which appears to be a die adjustment piece. This one is not as clear as the 1998 one and no date is visible on it.

Mike, it's from the one bag that I went through before. This lot was heavy in UK tokens and I was going to toss them, then thought about the planchets so rechecked them. I also found a couple of brass colored ones, 22.3mm weighing 9.5 grams so I believe they may be the £1 planchets. Also a couple of the 22.3mm brass colored but 8.5 grams. Have no idea what they are though. I buy a few bags a month to go through to add to my collection and have for years and this is the first time I found any of these.
Rest in Peace

Every time the mint replaces dies they have to Correctly space the dies for proper striking. They have to make sure the dies are not too far or too close from each other. They test it by doing test strikes. This one was too far apart when striking so they had to make the dies get closer. really nice find.
