the famous BIE Cud for the 55 cents, no real added premium but people seem tp pick them up on ebay for a buck

One thing I learned and actually retained is that " Cud" is on the edge of the coin, never in the middle of the coin.

Exactly...a Cud is ONLY on the edge of the coin. It is the result of the coin being struck with a die that has a piece broken off the edge. It looks like a blob of unstruck planchet at the edge of the coin. This has been repeated here hundreds of times.
