This is probably one of the coins I dream about. This summer I've got a great job paying more money than I have had in past years with very low living expenses. I'm a college student so it's not full time in case anyone was wondering why I referred just to the summer.

Anyways, the following ebay auction ends Sunday 6/21. It's currently at $212.00 which is low for this coin in this grade. MS-64.

What do you guys think I should be shooting for here for max bid. I know that's a loaded question, but book value for an MS 64 is around $300.

Previous ebay listings have gone for 200-300 bucks, with a few at between 200-205. Obviously less is better here. I think 270 is out of my price range.

Here is the link, also if anyone from CCF is actively bidding, comment or PM and I'll stay out of this auction to keep your cost lower :)

Wow. That coin has amazing eye apeal. I doubt you will find one better. If you love the coin, it is not about getting it for market value, it is about getting it for what you would pay for it. Good luck!

That's a lovely looking Vermont - strong eye appeal indeed.

Greysheet Bid/Ask in MS 64 is $260/$285. Somewhere in that range is a fair retail price to pay.

Best of wishes in the pursuit ... here's to wishing you are successful.

Thanks David. Really considering pulling the trigger. Up to about 220 today. The Commems for my 7070 are quite planned, and this one is part of the plan. Just hoping that today is the day where I can add it.

Very nice example!

This is my coin out of a Stack's Bower's aution were they stated MS62:

1927-Vermont-Commem.---My-Dream-Coin

The Vermont State Sesqui-Centennial Commission, John Spargo, president, initially selected Mr. Sherry Fry to design and model this coin. Mr. Fry's designs were not very well received by The Commission of Fine Arts in Washington. Mr. Spargo and Commission Of Fine Arts chairman Charles Moore sent many letters back and forth about the designs and in frustration, Mr. Fry resigned his commission. After brief discussions with artist T. Spicer-Simson, the job was given to Charles Keck.

This piece is struck in the highest relief of any commemorative issue, and the lettering is particularly large and bold.

The reduction of the models was done by the Medallic Art Company of New York.

Lee G, Great coin. Love it. I however didn't pull the trigger. I got up into the high 230s and decided to let it go.
