Got 5 of my sets an hour ago....all except one dollar look great. That one has a small scratch ob the reverse near the edge.

The sets are not sealed and coin capsules are easily removed from the packaging. No clue why NGC requires the medal to be sent in the OGP when it comes out like the dollar.

One cardboard box, 5 of the folders, with some packing paper to keep them from sliding around. Not individually packed.

Correct Cascade...but my question was why only for the medal since it is easily removed from the packaging?

(and actually if you just the medal graded it has to be sent in the OGP...doesn't have to be both)

If the medal can be purchased separately, then you need OGP to get C&C designation. RP dollar is only available in the set, thus, no OGP needed.

I think I'll keep one each of Ike and Kennedy in RP(If I can get them from the US Mint). I just never got too interested in these small brass dollars.

So if one wanted them graded (just the dollars) we only need to send them to PCGS/NGC? May be my first time having something graded if there aren't visible things wrong with them

Just got back from the post office. The obverse has a dark spot at about 9 o'clock, I wasn't able to capture it very well in the picture. Then on the reverse there is a piece of lint inside the capsule.

The medal looks nice to me..

Yes but it can't be purchased separately....that is the point

Correct for NGC...no guidance from PCGS which is normal...they are usually the last to get with the program

I received my coins a couple of hours ago. I haven't opened the box yet. Are there any known errors to look for? I haven't heard of any at this point.

Apparently there may be an obverse die crack. Look back a page or two here.
