US Mint - The United States Mint will open sales for the 2015 Coin and Chronicles Set - Harry S. Truman (product code AX1) starting on June 30 at noon Eastern Daylight Time (EDT).

2015-Coin-&-Chronicles-Set---Harry-S-Truman

The Set Contains the Following

One 2015 Harry S. Truman Presidential $1 Reverse Proof Coin, available in this set only

One 1 5/16" Harry S. Truman Presidential .999 silver medal

One 1973 U.S. eight cent Harry S. Truman postage stamp

The coin, medal, and stamp are displayed in a rich deep red folder covered in a soft-touch material with a handsome textured look that is very gift-worthy.

The Truman Presidential $1 Reverse Proof Coin will be minted at the United States Mint at Philadelphia and will bear the "P" mint mark. The silver medal will also be produced at the Philadelphia facility but will have no mint mark.

Production of this set is limited to 17,000 units. Orders will be limited to five units per household. The bureau will re-evaluate the order limit over the period this set is available for sale.

The 2015 Coin and Chronicles Set - Harry S. Truman is priced at $57.95. Orders will be accepted at http://catalog.usmint.gov and at 1-800-USA-MINT (872-6468), while hearing- and speech-impaired customers with TTY equipment may order at 1-888-321-MINT. Please visit the United States Mint website for information on our shipping options: catalog.usmint.gov/customer-service/shipping.html Additional 2015 Coin and Chronicles Sets honoring Presidents Dwight Eisenhower, John F. Kennedy, and Lyndon B. Johnson will be available later in the year.

I am in for one and only one.

Not going to get greedy, but I will scorch the earth and sky if I am denied.

I still wish it had a bronze medal like the other two.

So where do they get all the stamps. Is the USPS sitting on a bunch of old stamps?

As a ex-stamp collector, I can tell you that you can buy unused mint stamps at 80-85% face value, most years 1940-modern day stamps aren't worth much these days. Dealers saved many sheets of these common issues, and some of them sell at face when I attended stamps shows many moons ago.

I don't understand the household limit of 5. This set will be sold out within 30 min max. A mintage of 17k with let's say an average of 3 sets per order (conservative estimate!) means roughly 5.7k orders...
I just don't get it with the mint. This is somewhat similar to the 2014 coin & currency set. "Oh yeah, we forgot to mention that the Sac in this set has a special finish. Ooops, sorry, we have no clue what we're doing here."

None, and simply because there were no special coins in them, just medals.

This limit is nuts. Those are going to be gone in 20 minutes because this is the only way to get the RP dollar directly from the mint.

They might be basing this (horrible) limit on the fact that the 20,000 limit FDR is STILL available at us mint.gov after months. Of course there's no RP coin in that folder..

This quote is hilarious: "The bureau will re-evaluate the order limit over the period this set is available for sale."

Yeah, well. I hope the Mint has a machine that slows down time, because there's not much "re-evaluating" you can do in a few minutes!

Maybe they will realize the problem before they release the Ike C&C set in a few months, because I absolutely MUST HAVE the small brass Ike $ in RP for my Ike collection.

Again, I just want one for me. No flipping or profiteering.

And if I do not get one... Look out!
