livingdinasaur Pillar of the Community United States 1571 Posts	Posted 12/30/2007 9:21 pm I just received the CEDROM with the book of Canadian coins, and their varieties, and when trying tio register it, I was unable to put the "correct" serial number. I tried every combination of what I could see, (I am legally blind, and am unable to read, due to no central vision). Can anyone help me "install", and use what I have purchased, or is it a lost cause, (and money)? Dick Report this Post to the Staff

Topher Pillar of the Community Canada 965 Posts	Posted 12/30/2007 9:34 pm Dick, If it's Pierre Charest's book on Canadian Coins and their Varieties, then the serial number is written on the CD-ROM itself. If you can get someone nearby to read it out to you, then you should be good to go. If that doesn't work, email me and I'm sure I can come up with a solution for you. Report this Post to the Staff
livingdinasaur Pillar of the Community United States 1571 Posts	Posted 12/30/2007 10:17 pm Thpher, that is the CDROM. I thought I was getting a book, but got the CDROM, instead. The serial; number is written in the CD, and also is printed on the case. It is on the CDROM, itself, and shows the same info as the others, when I check the DVD drive. I used a "glass to increase the size of the numbers, but every timme I tried to register, it keeps saying the number is wrong. I sent an email to Charest@bois.francs,qc.ca/book/,and to charest@qc.ca, explaining my problem, and vision case. No response from them, but I expect it will be tomorrow, or even Wednesday, before the will see their mail. I also included my email add: azbrushape@aol.com. I would advise just saving the PDF somewhere on your hard drive and then you can access it without the CD-ROM. Acrobat Reader is great in that you can enlarge it as much as you need to to read the pages. Report this Post to the Staff
KurtS Pillar of the Community United States 5318 Posts	Posted 12/31/2007 1:15 pm Good luck with that. My install went w/o a hitch; all I can suggest is the same as Topher. However, since typing in SNs can be confusing, you might also try entering the sequence into word as large numerals just to confirm something funky isn't getting introduced. Then copy/paste that sequence from Word (omitting carriage returns). Btw, that's a great reference...the other day I found a rare coin on ebay using that book. I am strictly a "generic" type, and like to do my computers, "MY WAY" as Frank Sinatra used to say. This was a gift from the wife, for Father's Day, so It remains.
