I got this recently as a plain slabbed ms63 Morgan but the die cracks were really pronounced. I did a little googling and it seems that these aren't that uncommon though I haven't seen any 1899 o that have them this obvious and pronounced. At first I thought it was a gouge through the coin but it's a great big silver mountain range. It's Pretty much the whole way around the lettering, I can't decide if it makes the coin interesting enough to offset the damage to the immediate impact of the coin (love nice Morgans, big real money coins).

Are these a little like VAMs where you can to some extent trace the coin to a particular die and a period of time as they changed and the cracks hot bigger?

It looks a little more obvious in person, I might Crack out the proper macro gear tomorrow. I'd love to see some more examples of anyone has pictures of others with even bigger die cracks.

Sorry about that, let's try again. Obviously it's most prominent on the unit of United states and in the legend between the Eagles wing tips but it's really obvious looking at it in person, like someone really gouged the die. I can't find my loupe so I've only had a good look with the naked eye and with the photo but later today I'll get the macro gear out.
