Started going threw some of my Canadian stuff again and getting a little more serious about it. Found this 1949 whick I think has the point on the denticle. The other ones I have are completely different from this one. Sorry for the poor picture but its in a flip right now and I took the shot with a cheap QX3.

Might be a Little off track here on this coin. Did an ebay search into the 48/49s. Since I have no real referrence on canadian coins I took it that the points going into the rim were the varitey. Can anyone post a good picture of the different 48 and 49 varieties. I am ordering the CD that you suggested and that should help answer alot of my questions.

What you need to look for is the last "A" in GRATIA pointing to, or between denticles. On the 49 the rarer one points to a denticle.

Thnaks for the example Paul. I do have the 2007 North American coin guide but nothing is shown for these two years denticle varities.
