Hello, I recently bought this 1908 S Indian Head cent, and it has some staining on the coin, I was told acetone will remove it but I dont know how to do that. Can someone tell me how to? Sorry if this is the wrong area to post this. This is my first post on this forum.
Thank you for looking :)

You could use a Q-tip and dip it in acetone then gently rub it on the area and then wipe clean with a soft cleaning cloth. But you need to know it will change the surface in that it will make it dull looking and may even change the color.

I would leave it. Nothing will help it. You'll just damage it.

thank you folks, I think I might leave it, I also got a 3 cent nickel with some black stuff that I think acetone will take off, but I dont know if it will make it turn some weird color.

I doubt acetone will help here.
