I'm on a roll tonight with my posts and comments! Well we just got back from New Orleans and on the first day, our family, as a group, walked down Royal St.in the French Quarter and I stopped at a lil coin/antique shop. All was going well. Laid back owner-dude and I were clicking. Found common interests with owner-dude started perusing his display cases. He had stacks and stacks of coin and jewelry trays filled and overflowing with goodies. I was in the ZONE and I realize all was quiet other than he and I talking. I turned around and all 5 of our family members were done looking around and were standing behind me looking at the back of my head! They were ready to move on and get beignets! I would have let them go on without me but it was a family vacation and we needed to hang out together. Well, I reluctantly left that fantastic, dusty, overflowing shop! I saw Peace dollars, Ikes, tiny gold coins, coins in bezels with chains. I could cry! Long story short, I didn't get back to spend the day with the shopkeeper. I had planned on looking at every single coin and ring in his shop. Next update in November on our next visit. Just you wait. I'm about to get selfish with my time!

Well, I suppose it could have been worse. Now you know where to go next time so you can plan ahead.

And when you do go back you'll probably find all were purchased right after you left that time. Sounds not to good but those things do happen.

I too just returned from vacation and our one day at New Orleans we walked around too. Luckily my wife was willing to wait for me to look at the coins and let me purchase the 1857 Seated Liberty half dollar. We also went all through the French Market/Quarter and got beignets too! Visited the mint as well for a little bit which was pretty sweet! Too bad we missed you I am not sure how we would have found anyone from CCF though. Too bad to be rushed though, luckily my wife is pretty awesome :D

When on vacation I'm known to tell everyone else to move on and I'll catch-up with them. Hey, that's one of the few good uses for a cell phone that I've found. LOL

It's your vacation too, I discovered many years ago, you gotta do what YOU want to do otherwise the "herd mentality" will ruin your personal experience and you'll regret not taking care of you.

Or you will find that the shop has closed down and he's gone.

Very good advice.

Make a plan and you will find
she has something else in mind,
and so rather than do either, you do something else
that neither likes at all.

That would be sad.
