To my knowledge the issued Piedfort coin didn't have the gold plate. Post mint modification?

Interesting....

Mine doesn't have the gilding.

Do you have this coin "in hand" or it is just the picture?
I suspect, that if it is the picture from the web, it could be some light reflection, causing the coin look like gilded.

Not once I've seen some sellers, enhance their pictures, to give the coin gorgeous look.

Added:
I see it on ebay - looks like reflection, and the listing doesn't say nothing.

The 2008 issue had a gold plated Maple Leaf
but as far as I know, the 2010 was all silver.

It's on ebay from a seller my wife deals with regularly so there's no intentional foul play or anything like that. It looks too uniform to me to be light reflection but she's got a question in to confirm. And my eyes aren't as good as they used to be!

Its just the lighting imo, yellowish glare from the light or a reflection etc, you can see the same yellow tinge on the edge of the capsule.

Mine has no gilding either.

2010 1oz Silver Maple Leaf Piedfort

Piedfort - A coin of substance
The word "piedfort" literally means "strong foot" in French and appeared centuries ago to mean "heavy measure" in minting. Today, "piedfort" indicates that a coin is thicker than usual. The Royal Canadian Mint is proud to introduce its first-ever Silver Maple Leaf in a piedfort format; inspired by the strong and enduring interest in its internationally-renowned bullion products.

Silver Maple Leaf Coins were originally launched in 1988. They quickly benefitted from the success of the Gold Maple Leaf Coins introduced nine years prior to become the standard by which other silver bullion coins are measured. This new piedfort coin is crafted on that same tradition of excellence. It is 99.99% pure with twice the thickness to provide the unique contrast of its added weight and substance.

Specifications:
Face Value: 5 dollar
Mintage: 9,000
Composition: 99.99% pure silver
Weight (g): 31.39
Diameter (mm): 34

Special Features:
Precision-crafted in 1 troy oz of 99.99% pure silver with twice the thickness of standard coins
The Royal Canadian Mint's first-ever Maple Leaf in a piedfort format

Limited mintage makes this inaugural Piedfort Silver Maple Leaf Coin highly collectible

Packaging:
Coin is encapsulated and presented in a maroon clamshell case lined with flock and protected by a black sleeve.
