Over the years I have amassed a number of Canadian coins here in the U.S. and I'd love to learn more about them. Is there a Canadian equivalent to the U.S. Red Book that would provide me with some good, basic info?

Thanks.

The Charlton Standard Catalogue is the go to book for Canadian coins. Mintages, Values (a bit off), a small history. Includes all Canadian denominations including Newfoundland coins, NewBrunswick etc.. And a section for counterfeits. Very handy book to own.

Thanks for all the replies.

Most of the Canadian coins I have are circulation finds. You might be surprised how often I find Canadian coins in change. (Is it the same in Canada regarding U.S. coins? I live in New Jersey and we get quite a few Canadian tourists here so that may be part of the reason.)

A few might be a bit more interesting (to me at least). But I doubt there's anything that would interest a Canadian collector very much. I'll try to post a picture or two over the weekend. It might be cool for you to see what we sometimes find in circulation.

Thanks again!

Oh, and by the way, nickels have always been my favorite; and Canadian nickels look really interesting.
