I purchased a slabbed 1960 D Franklin half dollar. Looking it over the first thing I noticed was the mint mark looked doubled. I can't find anything on the net regarding this so I wonder if it is normal. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in Advance.
Jack

Machine doubling. See how it is the same as the rest of the devices?

Then it is not an error. Is MD common?

More common in certain years. Cool find but doubtful it would carry a premium.

Seems like happens more often on the larger coins. On the HALF DOLLAR and ONE DOLLAR ( Ike dollar) it harder to find one without MD. Still a nice coin and silver is always a plus.
