Ive been wanting one for along time but Ive not yet splashed out on one. Well, I found this one - big flan (36mm), good detail, fine silver - and I'm considering it. But first, I want some opinions, namely: How much do you reckon its reasonable to pay? Is there anything off about it?

That's a beauty, Ben, and would be a great acquisition. And it's HUGE! Been a long while since I've been in the market for big Greek AR's like this...I think somewhere in the $350 - $400 (360ish Euro) range would be reasonable for such a handsome and large coin in this (VF) condition, but that's just a quick reckoning with no research. Are they somewhere around that, or am I way off?

Nice coin, looks like a late posthumous issue possibly Price 1686, Temnos mint circa 180's BC. I'd say $300-$350 would be a good price.

Pretty darn close to "museum" quality ! That often makes a coin hard to value. There are always people with deep pockets that don't mind paying top dollar for the best. While the obverse is not amazingly crisp it has a great deal of beauty and I can see no flaws. Of course I am viewing on an iPhone so I might be missing some scratches. Reverse is fantastic. I have been out of the Tet market for a long time but these fetched around $400 twenty five years ago. Of course the supply has increased since then but I would expect to pay a bit more than that.
If it is under $350 it is a "no brainier" really. You know you could sell for around that !

I've seen similar pieces from beastcoins and ephesos on VCoins between $300 and $350 in slightly better condition although the flat isn't as wide on most of those. I think you should pay in this range for the coin.

Well, I am happy to announce that I have bought this coin at asking price: just under $200. The same seller also has a beaten up tremissis for $180, but I'll give that a miss for the moment.
All told, it actually got to $210 - darn exchange rate!

that is a major win for 200 dollars. if I saw that coin for that price it's whip out the credit card if I didn't have the cash...and would think twice about it.
congrats to you!
