Could someone please help me identify a coin?
I seem to be unable to attach the images,

But below is my description;
O-Queen Victoria's Head, with crown but also a leafy Greekish crown with the circling words being :VICTORIA DEI GRA BRITT REGINA FID DEF IND IMP, to the left of the head the words : IN COMMEMORATIONEM ANNI REGNI, to the right : LX.

R - An Emblem with a Lion to the left, and a horse to the right, inner circling words : SOL MAL NSE, wording on the ribbon below : DIEU ET MON ?ROIT, below the emblem the wording : THE BRITISH EMPIRE, below which is another smaller circular emblem with the inner circling wording : PEACE, LOVE, AND UNION, to the left of this smaller emblem : A.D., and to the right : 1897.

The most interesting part of the coin : All the British colonies, named circling the outer-inner rim of the coin. The coin is large, and +/-7.7cm in diameter.

PLEASE HELP!

Sounds like an 1897 Queen Victoria Diamond Jubilee medal. Does this look like your medal: http://coinquest.com/cgi-bin/cq/coi...in_coin=9604 ?

The inner motto will be:

Honi soit qui mal y pense.

This is the motto of the Order of the Garter, an English order of chivalry.

I have seen a number of translations, all very similar but with subtle differences. One I liked was: "evil be to him who evil thinks". I am no expert on mediaeval French...

The other motto will be: "Dieu et mon droit", translating as "God and my right". This is the motto of the English ( not British ) monarch, referring I believe to the concept of a monarch's divine right to rule.

Almost almost but not so! I believe the Dieu et mon droit - looks more like it. After futher investigation I saw SPINK & SON right at the bottom of the rear, so that will be my next move..

Thanks so much for your reply!
