I came across on lot of these pieces, for which I suppose that they are some kind of tokens/medals, instead to be official specimens, and practically they don't have any value. Anyone has know something more about them? What is interesting... some of them looks to be used (circulated)... although they have been placed in capsules late.

Hi, the problem with those 'specimens' is that they are not, nor they ever were official. Few months ago I was almost tricked into buying a Slovenian euro 'specimen' set. Luckily I did the research and it turned out it was a private issue, imitating the Euro, but just enough different so the producer wouldn't have any troubles. Those coins are sold to unknowing public as designs that were meant for Euro coins, but were 'rejected'. I really think that is your case. Just for curiosity: what is their weight? And: are they magnetic? I see you are from Croatia. If you go to slovenian small adds site http://www.bolha.com and write 'proba' in search engine, among 'hobby, collecting' / 'hobi/zbirateljstvo' you'll find some similar ones. As for their worth ... I don't know, but I'd say none really. Private issue, nothing more or less. Tainted with intent of scamming.

A ten years ago some numismatic organizations made these for fundraising purposes. "Countries" were exotic like Siberia, Checnya etc...

Hi Dagaz (Pozdravljen, prijatelj!)... I also have seen on Croatia auction site (aukcije.hr) that some folks are selling these medals (always false described as "Euros", although nowhere on the coin I can see Euro or € sign), and some of them also have "certificates", which also say nothing about Euros. So, although the sample showing on photos is from "Vatican", a cert is written on German, so I suppose that all these false specimens are made in Germany. Of course, they are almost surely made in China, ordered from someone in Germany... suppose. They are very similar to 2 euros coins, so, I suppose that a number of them have been circulated if sellers didn't take a good look what they got. If the rare facts on the "Cert" are true, that means that only this 2-euro Vatican is made in 50.000 samples. I have seen about 10 different samples of these specimens, so we should have a half of a million these coins here and there :) Possibly similar story to the 6 Sex Euros... but those have been more popular particularly. Who knows... maybe these "specimens" will also be popular once... but I suppose that people now are buying them just because they actually thinks that they are buying true specimens of 2 euros. EDIT: to reply on your question. They are NOT magnetic... I don't have in this moment my electrical libra to weight it correctly. https://www.aukcije.hr/prodaja/Numi...o-2/2859232/

Well, according to the specifications, the size is right but the composition is wrong. (Neusilber = "New silver" = copper-nickel-zinc, proper ring metal for the €2 is copper-nickel and Messingkern = Brass center, correct one should be Nickel-brass plated nickel)

Yes, they are just dancing on the border of illegal... size is same as Euro, but the composition is slightly (almost invisible) different... number value is almost as same on the Euro, but also slightly different. In fact, they are so similar to Euro and confusing, that some sellers on ebay are selling these coins as actual Euros... www.ebay.de/itm/131543396971

Filip, pozdravljen! :) Yes, it does not surprise me some are selling them as actual €. And funny; that Vatican coin you posted link to ebay, it seems circulated, but the wear is nothing like it could happen on 2€ coin (the dark spots). At least it does not resamble anything I've ever seen. And yeah, those sex euros are just silly.
