What is that line called? I'm sure it's not a die crack, but more of an air bubble like thing:

And is there doubling on the 2 or am I just trying to see something that's not there?

I cant see the "2" as doubled. Brefos; however, I'm no expert. Usually, after viewing hundreds and hundreds of coins of all ages, I have to take my eye out of the microscope and take a look-see at the coin from a farther distance, compare it with 10 or so like coins/dates so I can return to (or redefine) a benchmark that is the "norm." Otherwise, I start "seeing things" and my "error" drawer starts filling up with die anomalies that, while evident, dont command any premium, and results in a drawer full of (probably) unremarkable "errors."

I am seriously considering not setting aside anything that is not an obvious and remarkable mint error -- otherwise, I'm going to reach the critical mass at counterproductive collecting unless setting aside those errors is for simple posterity. If I plan to go through those hundreds of coins when I have more time (like when I'm retired) then I'll keep setting aside most errors. If I think I'm going to set them aside and go through them anytime soon to determine if they command a premium, I'll have to reset my "bar" for "collecting" and "errors."

My perspective only.

Jim

First coin is a common gas bubble.

Second coin appears completely normal.

Thanks for the replies. Now I know, and knowing is half the battle.
