First off I want to thank you for looking. My name is Loyal and I could use some help on a coin I have. Okay this is what I know so far about this coin, it's a St. Patrick's halfpenny in fairly good/okay shape but it does not look to be cooper it's more silver in color. Can anyone give me more info on the coin, worth and help me figure out if this is silver or what medal it is? I could take to a dealer or shop but honestly don't trust a lot of people. Thank you

What does the edge of the coin look like ? Do you see a seam ? Cast line that's wavy ? Or is it smooth ?

Thank you! @Dar @GoldenIslesCoins, Hmmm what do you mean seam? It looks like there use to be little ridges I think but it looks as if someone worn the sides down Kinda like they were scraping it on something. Sorry I don't got a good camera, but here are some closer ones.

Welcome! At first glance this would appear to be a Vlack 1-B die variety of large planchet ("halfpenny") St Patrick's copper. However, the rare silver versions are only seen in the small planchets ("farthings"). Looking at how the top of the word FLOREAT is off the planchet on your coin, I think it's a good bet this was made by the dies of Peter Rosa, the premier replica-maker of early American coins. His dies from the 1960's are still being used by his nephew at coinreplicas.com; now, all the replicas being made are stamped COPY, but in Rosa's day, they were not. https://www.coinreplicas.com/st-pat...penny-1678-5

thank you everyone for helping but I'm still a little confused because this one is silver and has visible little ridges on edge. Oh also it has a little spot on it that is gold/brass in color in it.
