I was given this years ago by a friend who found it in a drawer. I don't know if it's a coin, token, etc. It's very light.

That looks more like at token to me than a coin, but I expect someone will be along soon who will know for sure.

It's a replica of a Chinese cash coin. Genuine examples are extremely common (they had almost no purchasing power and were made by the billions), but fakes exist as well.

Correct; it's a modern "Feng Shui" replica of a Chinese cash coin of the early 1800s. The dots all over the front of the coin are supposed to simulate the rough surface of genuine cash coins, which were cast in fine sand.
