From the edges, I am not sure whether I can see a seam, which would mean that it is a cast fake.

The reverse of the coin shows an Athenian Owl, the AOE stands for Athens, I believe. I have never seen the obverse before, it certainly doesn't look like Athena. I hope I am wrong. Our American friends should be waking up soon, hopefully you will get more information.

Fascinating peacock (?) headdress on the obverse. Doesn't match any Athenian (AOE) drachms or tetrobols that I know of. Perhaps a struck fantasy piece?

Your coin is supposed to be from Attica (Athens). The reverse has the Athenian Owl and the legend for the city. However the obverse is not one that I've seen associated with this type. I've checked several sources none show this obverse type. I've also checked several fake sites with negative results. At this point I can't say if it's real or not.
