I found this in a box last week. My photos are poor because they do not show the toning occurring on the nickel. Over the last 3 - 4 years I have found over 40 proofs.

Your photos don't scream proof. but I'm leaning more to PR than to MS .

Nice find!

The photo does not prove it is proof, but it does not say it is not either. I am leaning towards proof because the surface seems reflective and the rims seem square. Better photos would remove all doubt.

That being said, the photos are good for the first time. Much better than my first efforts.

How do the steps look? I'm not aware of any proof coin that wouldn't have at least darn close to full steps.

Glare is definitely a problem for me. I'm using my cell phone and I'm at a loss as to how to best handle the lighting. The pictures do not do the coin justice. If I could get a decent picture You would see how good a coin it is. It is slightly circulated si I don't think it is full steps but close to it. I'll practice more over the weekend.

A good tip is to put a piece of paper between the coin and the light source.
