This is my first official post so please go easy on me.

I see on ebay there is a FIFA $20 for $20 coin that has a current bid of about $80 CAD and shipping for another $20. I'm new so I don't know about grading so how can a brand new coin that is graded be worth that much more than one I could buy from the Mint today for $20? Shouldn't all the coins from the RCM be very high quality?

Please help me learn.

Personally I wouldn't pay extra for a graded bullion coin or these 20 for 20 coins (which are pretty much bullion type coins.) just because its slabbed/graded but there is a market for them as some people buy them, so each their own I guess.

I would guess most new coins are graded 67 68 69 and 70, so ya not really necessary unless you like paying more to get a "grade"

to the CCF, 20For20 !

I observed, that usual trend is to grade some "special" / "significant" NCLT issue, for example, some coin that appears in set only (like coins from the fractional sets).

They got grades, like Northerncoins mentioned, and sellers list only the 69-70 coins, while the 69' go for 'normal' price (close to issue, or relative to the sate, that were taken from). And the 70' command the premium.

In my opinion, people's will to pay more (not my approach) comes from the circulation coin collection, when highly graded coins really scarce and appreciated.

Added:
Not to forget to mention, that IMO, for FIFA $20for$20 no sense to pay more than CAD 20.00 . Only face value justify this high mintage, specimen finish, sport themed coin.
