I don't mind being told that I am seeing things and that it is just my imagination!

It looks to me like there is a faint shadow of Lincoln's head to the left of it.

Also there is a line across the coin which makes it looks like it was dipped in some solution. If there were also a line on the Reverse then I would think that it has been dipped. There is not - - - so what is this?

Looks like a plating issue/gas and a stain.

It does kinda have the look and shape of Lincoln's head but it is a plating issue with a small chance of just being a worn die.

Would a good description of this be "Irregularly Applied Plating"?

Or....what "issue" might it be?

A small amount of gas got trapped. It is very common and spendable.
Rest in Peace

While the gas bubble has taken the form of a line, it is still the beginning of the end for that coin. It will waste away. Spend it.
