I was reading an article yesterday in a coin periodical about pins. I didn't consider them apart of exonumia but the author said they belonged in the grouping. Interestingly enough I collect pins from my home province and 2 others I am connected to but never thought of them being apart of my exo collection.

Do you have a sizable amount of pins, Circus?

On a side note I am slowly getting into militaria, well, the medal aspect, and consider that to be an out-reach of my exonumia.

I would have to say yes I do. All though these were part of a bulk swap. I have collected a fair number of pins, From my time hot air ballooning, and pins that are fire dept related. According to Alpert and Elman's book Tokens and Medals. Li9st what they consider to be exonumia, pinbacks fit into it along with the 45 record inserts, the old style license plate key tags from the veterans group, uniform buttons, pocket screwdrivers(with advertising),crematory tokens, jewelry store ring markers, the large souvenir coins, medical battery amulets along with a host of others.
Since Gqami9ng tokens are considered a subset of tokens or exonumia, I also consider dice regular and casino(perfect dice) are a subset.
If you are old enough to remember the Archie's comics books, his friend Jughead wore a type of cut down hat that was popular in the 30's/40's a felt one that had holes cut in it and peaks around the edge. It also had a number of colored pins on the crown. My father made one for me back in the 50's when I was a kid. I will have to dig it out of the fo0t locker and take a picture. It had a number of pins and I would collect others to add to it. Some other famous hat wearers were "Goober" from Andy Griffith show, Slip Mahoney in the Bowery boys/dead end kids films, Jeff Goldbulm in Death wish. You can google jugheads hat for images.

It says "Chai" and is pronounced like "hi" but the first letter (chet) should be pronounced like you are blowing out a candle. It translates to something like life. You know when on TV shows you may see the ultra orthodox Jews drinking and they say "L'Chaim"? That translates to [toast] to life.

Here's the Hardee's free token for burgers to go with the one for fries I posted earlier! Are there still Hardee's in other parts of the country? They all closed around here years ago.
