The weak rim makes me believe this is a low pressure strike. Do others agree? How much does this kind of error affect a coin's value?

The coin weighs 22.49 grams; well within a normal range. Its thickness does not appear to be any different than a normal Eisenhower dollar as well.

The reverse marks on the rim make me wonder if it is PSD? Is there surface scratches on the both sides?

I did not get the impression that the edges were worn away in any fashion; perhaps I'm wrong about that.

I did find it odd that in the area of the date's weak impression there are marks that appear to have some kind of detail. I'm not sure what it may be.

Would a well used slot machine look like this coin?

There appears to be many more rim dings than would be typical of normal circulation.

with John as this likely being a slot machine coin.
