The new changes at PCGS seem to be slowing down the grading of submissions lately.

With the new "true view" images for "secure" submissions, the listing of the submission details (prior to grading) and the new holders I imagine have added to the work load.

I have 4 submissions totaling 104 coins that according to the "estimated turn around times" should have been graded and shipped by now.
I do appreciate the new innovations but the delays they seem to be causing is rather frustrating.
Is it just me or are you noticing the delays lately ?

Two big shows recently.
1. Summer FUN
2. Summer Whitman
Lot's of dealers paying for fast (one day) turnaround.
That slows normal submissions.

I have noticed on the shared orders page that there are quite a lot of submissions recived on 17th of this month and are already graded.
Maybe these are "express" submissions that cost extra to have the coins graded within a certain timeframe, thats all good but what about the majority of people that submit in the other categories?
We also pay to have our coins graded within a certain timeframe (as advertised on the PCGS website) , this is NOT happening at the moment.
With the exchange rate for the aussie doller Australian collectors are indeed paying a "premium" at the moment.
If PCGS give you a time estimate for the grading catigory
they should either honour it or discount the invoice accordingly
5 to ten days extra is "mildly" acceptable but 20 plus days extra is bloody ridicules and discounts should be applied.
After all if you are paying $20-$30 a pop to have your coins graded within an "advertised" timeframe then you should have them done and dusted within that time.

I believe you will find that the turnaround times are "estimates" and not guaranteed times. Since they don't guarantee them, they don't have to discount if they miss them.

Out of the 39 submissions I have sent in over the last couple of years the vast majority of them have taken far longer that the "Estimated" time to be graded.
This leads me to believe that the turnaround time (Estimates) are inaccurate and are merely a "Sales Tactic"

The worst experience I ever had with turnaround time at a grader was with PCGS Currency, I submitted a batch of 25 notes (mostly world notes), it took well over 6 months for them to come back!

Got my results today, very disappointed that a ms64 2 Anna from NGC got Ms62 from PCGS and a vf 25 NGC graded Aus florin got vf details from pcgs.
I am yet to have an NGC slabbed coin go higher with PCGS

For a start off I do NOT agree with the majority of Aussie collectors that NGC is under graded by 1 point compared to PCGS.
However most coins sent to PCGS as a crossover from NGC do not make it.
NGC tend to factor in and have experience with weak strikes, die detrition and die polishing that affects many Indian and Australian coins.
Whereas PCGS tend to focus on wear, luster and eye appeal.

I also don't agree that PCGS xgrades NGC 1 point lower. I've crossed many coins with PCGS from CCCS, ICCS, NGC to PCGS and they crossed just fine in some cases up 1 point-depends on how you vet the coins to be crossed. Some PCGS coins are graded down 1 point when crossing to ICCS. I've seen it all. Trying to rely on just one grading service like they seem to do in OZ is not realistic. I tend to use NGC and PCGS about 80% of the time.
