Evening everyone!

My brother, who used to collect coins years ago but no longer does, has a Whitman box of slabbed coins that he's wanting to sell. However, they're slabbed with PGS. Not PCGS, but PGS. Has anyone heard of this organization?

I can't find anything on them.

Thanks everyone!

Sounds like a basement slabber.

Can you post a picture of an example?

Of course.

Question-Regarding-Pgs-Slabs

I did get this one off of him a bit back and turn it around for a few bucks.

Pretty sure that is a basement slabber. Isn't that a Coin World holder that the coin is in? Don't believe any of the grades from PGS.

From http://www.allcertifiedcoins.com/co...panies3.html

This page is dedicated to do-it-yourself slabs or pre-made empty shells that anyone can make at home.

One of the most common certified shells is Coin World. It is very recognizable by the clear earth symbol in the bottom left corner. It's actually on both side of the case. They make two sizes a normal size which is close to the PCGS or NGC slabs and a smaller version which is closer to ANACS or ACG.

PGS - unknown, name maybe part of INB
INB - International Numismatic Bureau
