Was going through some old circulated Morgans in 2x2s I have stashed in an album, and thought I had weeded out the better ones, but this one caught my eye because of the die breaks obverse/reverse and the pitted reverse. Looks like a VAM 3B1 to me, but I'm no expert. Has pitted reverse through D. Obverse has die crack through date, out to 2nd star, to rim; then from 3rd star all the way to E; starts again at the rim directly across from the M and runs all the way around the stars to the last 1 in the date. Reverse has scribbles between both talons; a stronger die crack from between the eagle's right wing tip/the S in STATES, going through all of STATES, and starting again at the O, going through left wing tip, and from rim to A through AMER, and from last A through star, ending at the base of the R in DOLLAR. It also has a die chip/lump in the denticles to the bottom right of the O in DOLLAR, and some pitting in the wreath above the O. I think it's circulated, and possibly cleaned. It's also probably a details grade because of the rim ding on the reverse. Anyone want to take a shot at the numerical grade, surfaces, and my VAM theory? (Scanned) (Camera) Thanks for looking - Adam Member ANA - EAC - TNA - SSDC - CCT #890 "Most of the things worth doing in the world had been declared impossible before they were done." -- Louis D. It's a nice example of the VAM even with the cleaning, at least.

3B1 it is, pre-clash. The lump in the denticles below the O in DOLLAR is diagnostic. I'm OK with XF Details.
