Hello,

I need some assistance identifying this variety if possible:

1845-Large-Cent-Variety-Ck

1845-Large-Cent-Variety-Ck

Also, does the fact that this looks like it has been in a jewelry holder destroy its seemingly XF-40 grade designation?

thanks

I performed some further analysis insofar as the type of varietal class this coin fits in.

I have determined that it closely matches the N1 designation.

As a comparative photo the one listed on Heritage at

http://coins.ha.com/itm/large-cents...bnail-071515

matches up to mine quite well.

Anyhow, what would a coin like mine be worth in light of the fact that it is clearly a jewelry piece?

By the way CoinFacts lists this variety as 'Very Scarce':

Thanks

I agree its an N-1 R4 variety with what looks like XF details. Not sure how much value loss for the jewelry marks. I would think it would sell on ebay for 25 to 35 dollars or so.
