Found this going through a box. Was wondering what it is and it worth. I know it's a buffalo but the number on the neck I can't find anything similar anywhere. I'm certain it's a knockoff of some sort. Just curious.

I am fairly sure that is a generic silver round produced by a private company. I have seen ones with the serial numbers before. I think the name of the company is on reverse or on the edge.

Not 100% but those look like the silver rounds that my LCS sells.

Per the owner of the local coin store, he gets them off Silvertowne. I believe they have OPM, Ohio Precious Metals, mint them.

That being said, the ones I have seen haven't said copy or had a serial number on them so maybe it is someone else.

Assuming it is real silver, you are looking at getting at best $14 for it if you were to sell it.

I didn't see any manufacture name on rim. But thank you for your help.

it may have a mint mark of OPM or other initials of the maker.

I'm not sure that's even a silver round. Notice that nowhere on it does it make any mention whatsoever of fineness nor weight.

How big is it and how much does it weigh? I hate to say it, but I strongly suspect you may have some Reader's Digest junk... silver plated base metal sold under a layer of weasel words ("real silver", "historic") for $19.95.
