"the judge now has ordered that the estate can recover $1,892,324 from Anthony Delluniversita, majority owner of PCA and the owner of PCI coin grading company at the time the coins were graded and sold to Pereida. Of that total, $1,610,802 is for damages, $280,190 for attorney's fees and another $1,332 for costs of the lawsuit." And PCI/PCA also had to pay their own attorney(s).

Granted, better if the fraud were never perpetrated, but at least both sets of lawyers got paid.

I have never respected PCI. Now they will probably crumble and die after this.

This sleazy iteration of PCI is unrelated to the legitimate operation that was in business from 1989 to 2007, shut down due to the death of the owner. David Lawrence Rare Coins purchased the assets of PCI and then reopened as Dominion Grading Service, operating until 2010. I believe that this fraudster purchased the assets from DGS and then re-reopened as the "new" PCI but he was essentially a self-slabbing shyster, hence the judgement.

Bonnie was one of my competitors in the local Financial Services Business. It is good to hear this ruling. It is interesting that this news has not shown up in any of the local media!

I feel the same way about PCI .. as others here.

Glad it was a good verdict.

I remember using PCI way back in the day when they first came out in the early to late 90s. Think they were a more reputable company back in the day and obviously things change and so do companies.

jdiablo30, read what biokemist6 posted above. It is not the same company, really just the name, definitely not the original.

I believe this is the second ownership of PCI after DGS sold off the assets. This is just the penalty decision for the court case decided back in May.

And who knows they may sell off the Assets and PCI may yet rise again.

That already happened. See this thread
