I recently signed up for the site, and entered all one dollar bills from 2009 that I have. After entering them, I write on the bills on the edge to hopefully get someone else to track it. Anyone else do something like this? 2009's are so common, I figured I might have a little fun with every one I get.

I used to do a lot of Where's George-ing but got tired of the poor success rate after a while. It's fun and interesting but IMO the notes don't live long enough typically to get enough (or any, oftentimes) hits.

Don't let that discourage you, though. It's definitely a great site and a lot of fun.

I dabble with Where's George occasionally. When I find a bill in the wild I always enter it and have entered a couple hundred of my own over the years.

It does bring some interesting paths.

Once I had a large wad of singles accumulated so we marked a couple dozen as well as the other bills I had. When I found myself at a store that didn't take credit cards I had to use almost all of them at once, the clerk looked at me funny and asked about it. When I explained I could see her eyes say "What a geek" while her lips said "Uh, OK". I took it as a badge of honor, my wife was less enthused.

I run hot & cold - big push for the comma club, but then other things diverted me. Then this week I get 3 hits on cold (entered 5+ years ago) bills!
