The image doesn't show much. Do you use photo software? The images could use a bit of tweaking to see what you are seeing.

I just got Adobe Photoshop CC 2015 a few days ago but it's so complex....working on it...

It has a definite split serif on the bottom left corner and something protruding from the right side of the MM

When you take your image, do you focus on the top of the devices, or focus on the field around the mint mark? It is always best to focus on the fields or even inside the mint mark for a better clarity image.

I've been using Photoshop for about 15 years. I'm still coming up with something new with that program.

I focus on the MM directly and include the date as you suggested...

I think you missed my point. When you focus, focus on the field, not the tops of the mint mark. Then were will see clearly the mint mark/RPM.
