eBay's policy is fairly clean and simple:
Fantasies, Replicas, and the like must be marked with COPY.
Now, I know you don't think this is a fake, I'm just mentioning the part about requiring such coins to have the COPY marked on them because that is one of only two real "rules" that
ebay really enforces regarding coins.
The second is that you cannot assign or list a numerical grade for a coin unless it has been certified by one of the four accepted
TPG's.
There's also a "rule" that if you do list a
TPG graded coin, you have to show photos of both the obverse and the reverse of the entire slab. At least that is the way it USED to be. Now a days, there are plenty of people who list
TPG grades but don't show the holders themselves and seem to get away with that just fine.
So with the exception of those few rules you can pretty much expect the full gamut of what dealers will and won't tell you and
ebay does nothing about any of that.
You can say your coin is MOST Brilliantly Uncirculated Choice Gem Kissed by Mother Mary Herself when it's actually difficult to tell what the date on the coin actually is.
To make it short. Buyer Beware. If you don't know your coins, learn before you buy. Learning first hand is always best. Right here is second best.
