Is this clad layer missing due to mint damage or post mint damage?

Impossible to tell from the picture if a clad layer is missing. I see glue on the surface and the color of the picture as it is is not accurate enough to determine the color.

looks like it was struck through oil or thin grease or maybe there was tapeon the coin and someone pulled it off and some was tape glue was left and has colored up. It's not missing clad layers in my opinion.

Are the clad layers visible on the edge of this coin?

Hey, just the usual copper and silver colors on the edge of the coin. The only gold showing is on the reverse like in the picture. None of the gold is near the edge of the coin. Could the die have possibly pealed the layers off? Why would someone put glue on the coin and then remove it?

I might be copper dust that was sintered to the planchet during the annealing process.

Would Copper Dust be gold colored? Could the clad layer have been worn off somehow?

Dunno, if that color appears to be metallic, perhaps it's dust collected from annealing of those dollar coins? I don't see those much, so I'm totally guessing here.

What about that gold foil that women use in hobby crafts. I think you glue it on to an object and it looks like real gold? Or mabye gold paint? But there are "glue marks" or abrasion around the edges of the gold spots. Looks like the clad layer was worn or pealed off.

You all are correct. It is glue or some residue on the coin. It scratches right off with me fingernail.
