"Man accused of stealing $630K in South African coins from seller Jerry Price had researched what his life's collection of nearly 500 gold Krugerrand coins were worth, and, at 82, he was finally ready to part with them. He found Kevin King, a coin collector and seller with a storefront in West Palm Beach, on the Internet, he said. After he sold 15 coins to King in August 2014, King told him he could sell the rest for $633,000. He had a buyer, a guy he knew" http://www.sun-sentinel.com/local/p...9-story.html

Well the buyer that stole the coins is scum, but I'm having a hard time feeling too much sympathy for someone who leaves his $600K life savings in easily salable gold coins in the car while he goes into a back booth in a restaurant for an extended negotiation. As they say a fool and his money are soon parted.

Making a foolish decision does not make someone a fool.
If so, we would all fall into that category.

Some foolish decisions cost more than others. In this case, a lot more than others.

Man charged with coin theft in Florida arrested in Maine http://www.wcsh6.com/story/news/201...da/76578644/Quote: They also learned King was recently released on $30,000 bail in Florida after being charged with grand theft and money laundering. Police in Florida said he stole 490 African Krugerrand gold coins, valued at more than $600,000, from an 83-year old man who had been collecting them for years.
Police recovered about 200 of the coins in King's Waldoboro home. They believe he sold the rest of them.
Come on, released on $30,000 bail after stealing $600K from an elderly person? Rubbish. This guy is a predator and needs to be treated as such. Bet there is going to be a trail of victims that this perp leaves in his wake to feed his addiction.
