I particularly like the portrait style. This is the 'handsome' Claudius having a so-called "good hair" day. I have a Spes reverse that has the same type portrait. Not very realistic but still much prettier than the typical 'drooling idiot' style portrait. I do have some of those in the As denomination. But when I shell out big bucks for a sestertius I want the handsome guy !

I had a Claudius Triumphal Arch sestertius once, but I noticed it had been tooled so back it went to the seller. This is my only sestertius of Claudius now - the OB CIVES SERVATOS type in wreath. I really like the wreath sestertius types. I don't know whether one would call this the 'drooling idiot' bust type, but I like it. Claudius seems quite 'imperatorial' on this one, I would say.

Its a beauty ! Everything I look for in top shelf coin. Nice bold portrait (no idiot here !) Great green patina and the reverse is much nicer than you usually see. Since we are playing show me I will search out my handsome Claudius.
