Poll Question
The half dollar is often thought of as a rare coin by, erm, less knowledgeable people. Most of the people who think this think this way because they see it so seldom in circulation, however, if it became a little less bulky, and if it had a fresh redesign, it could come back!

Poll Choices
 Yes, bring it back!
No, it's dead like it should be.
 I don't care, do whatever.

I think they should eliminate the quarter, nickel and penny, round to the nearest $.10 and bring back the half dollar. So I voted yes.

You KNOW my answer to this. Eliminate the cent, nickel and quarter, bring back the 20 cent coin to replace the quarter, and issue a new designed and newly sized half. I know some people say "All we need is the dime, the half, and $1, $2 and $5 coins, if we were to simply "shift the decimal" and would easily carry dimes as the new cent, I would still like the 20 cent coin as our "new 2 cent coin" seeing as the "fifth" would actually be worth something. I really wish we had the 2 cent coin still...like the Euro does. No need for the 3 cent coin, though.

I would be good with this. Need to kill off the one, two, and five dollar notes as well, replace them all with coins. A figurative shifting of the decimal point.

No, they need to circulate. Printing one, two, and even five dollar notes is a waste.

At the very least the one dollar note needed to go thirty years ago.

Well, you are right though. Inflation is the reason why the cent and nickel are unnecessary today.

I cringe thinking about how the US Mint might do a newly-sized half. The Chuck-e Cheese tokens the mint calls dollar coins are an embarrassment to to the USA!
