Very interesting! So is it a straight clip? I read that, "if the planchet is struck from the end of a roll they are not fully round". Maybe some one cut it? I have no idea. Here are some more pictures. I'm still working on coin photography, hope this helps.

Is the edge that gray. If so it is not a incomplete planchet. It is PSD. The larger image on the bust is now showing me where they held it with pliers. Thanks for these extra images. It shows it is not a error coin, but a damaged coin. I stand corrected.

This is a prime example of the importance of having proper white balance in photos The first set of photos are so orange that the zinc core was completely obscured, making it appear as though it was normally plated.
