I have this coin that I purchased some time ago as a "Marcus Aurelius as Caesar".

It is Bronze; it measures 15 mm, and it weighs 4.9 gm.

While I can find numerous busts of Marcus Aurelius that look similar, I cannot find a 'reverse' that has this legend - three rows of letters, similar to
Nai
CAMC?
N? ?I?

Can you help me, please?

The bust is much too mature to be "as Caesar"
My Greek is terrible but my eyes can still see !
I would bet money that this is as Augustus.

I have a suspicion that the answer may be that the reverse legend is KAI.

Caesarea (something)
Someone read that as meaning Marcus "as Caesar"

Thanks P.P., and F.R..
You have both given me something that I didn't have before.
Now that you mention it, the first line could very well be "KAI", and P.P., the rest of your word "KAICARI" could be found at the start of the next line.
But, where can we go from there?

Thanks again to both of you.
There you are, F.R. You were spot on. Augustus it is,(not Caesar).
Not in 'Wildwinds'.
See . . . . . .

Always reassuring to find out that sometimes I am right about something !

The portraits of Marcus undergo a remarkable transformation as he ages.
The young Marcus seems a rather handsome fellow. The older Marcus is more ......
Interesting looking !
