Just got home from my very first coin show. Wish I could of stayed there longer, but I had to leave. Made some great purchases and met great people that were willing to teach me; one even said that I remind him of himself when he began collecting. Can't wait to attend another one!

ALWAYS great to hear of such a good experience!
Despite the Internet and the great pictures available for study, there
is no substitute for holding coins in your hands and speaking with knowledgeable sellers.
My only advice, which I repeatedly tell myself, is to attend a coin show without expectations.
I never know what I'll find sitting in a dealer's case that I just HAVE to have!

Nice
I went to my first coin show yesterday, but didn't buy/ sell anything. However, I did sign up for the Omaha Coin Club!

First coin shows are always a nervous yet exciting thing. Matthewvincent has been great with helping me. I find coin shows to be the best place to get new coins because of the ability to look at each closely in hand. Glad you had a great experience.

Yes you found out why nothing can beat a coin show. Just can never get that one great thing on the internet, information and getting to know people. It is amazing how many people are willing to talk, share knowledge, discuss, etc. at coin shows. If you get to go to many of them, you'll also find some dealers are there all the time and you'll get to know them.
Rest in Peace

I know how that is.

I have since got into the habit of photographing the coins before moving them from 2x2 to the album hole.
