I think this could be a 1984 Doubled ear, but I'm not too sure...
I've never seen one before.
Sorry for the bad pics, I'll upload more later on.
The last picture is of a 1996 LMC with a normal ear.

Also designes change from year to year so compairing coins from different years can be deceiving.

Yours could be a bit of Machine Doubling . Can't be certain with your pic. That is a high point on the coin and can have some convincing hits that mimic the look of doubling. Eather one results in a reduction of the design and that is what I see on your coin.
