Can anyone tell me about this. The reverse side has something going on. It almost looks like it is double stamped with a different image appearing to look like a maybe a snake.

Maybe try a soak in acetone? If it is glue it should take it off.

Was the coin loose or attached to card-board or something paper before you got it?
If it is glue,you can dip it in pure acetone but, as a new collector please read up on doing this.
Go to the "Search Coin Community" and type in acetone and learn.
Very worn IHC but nice to start of with.

By the way it's not a wheat back cent, those were made 1909-1959. you have an Indian Head cent/penny

That makes sense that it may have been stuck to something and that it is glue. I'll check it out. Also, thank you for correcting me that this is an Indian Head cent/penny. Thanks everyone for all the useful information and have a great day.
